About Evolve
A Bristol studio that designs and builds bespoke software and websites for UK businesses, and uses AI to build them faster and for less.
Good software should not cost a mid-sized business an enterprise budget.
Evolve was founded in Bristol in 2023. We build the systems that mid-sized businesses have usually been told are too expensive to build properly: booking and job management, customer portals, membership sites with billing, and the websites in front of them. We also replace legacy systems and add AI automation where the audit says it will pay back. AI does the mechanical parts of our build process, which is why the price and the timeline are lower than a traditional agency's. The judgement is still ours, and the code is yours.
What we build
Four recent projects, described without the names. Each one replaced something, does something now, and runs on a stack any competent developer can pick up.
A cloud workshop-management system
Replaced: A Windows desktop package licensed to one PC, with the records trapped on it and the backup on a USB stick.
Does: Bookings, job cards, parts, invoicing and MOT reminders for the whole team, from a browser and a phone, with every historical record migrated and reconciled.
Runs on: Next.js, Postgres, hosted in the client's own account, with the accounts package fed automatically.
A membership site with billing and referral attribution
Replaced: A written spec and no product.
Does: Paid membership through Stripe, a member dashboard, partner links that record which referral produced which sale, and an admin export the office runs itself.
Runs on: Next.js, Postgres, Stripe and transactional email, built in a single fixed-price phase.
An email-first coordination layer
Replaced: Six systems of record with no usable APIs, and a real workflow that ran in email and messaging through one person.
Does: Vacancy intake, candidate matching and chasing for a marine recruitment firm, sitting on top of the inbox rather than replacing it.
Runs on: Next.js, Postgres and Claude for reading and drafting, with every action logged.
A travel operator's site, moved off WordPress and Elementor
Replaced: A page-builder site with errors in the console and every enquiry filtered by hand.
Does: A rebuilt site with a CMS the office edits, an uploader that turns a lodge listing into a page in minutes, and an assistant that routes enquiries with the context attached.
Runs on: Next.js with a headless CMS, the URLs and rankings carried across.
How we decide
We will say no
If a package fits, buy the package and we will help you set it up. If the audit says the return is not there, we say so and the report is still yours.
Every number can be checked
The figures on this site are process facts or come from the sample audit, which is fictional and published in full. A number you cannot interrogate is not worth having.
Fixed price, or we do not quote
Every phase is one number agreed before it starts, quoted after discovery. We do not sell day rates, and if we got the estimate wrong that is our problem.
Based in Bristol. We work with businesses across the UK, in person across the South West and remotely everywhere else. The sectors we know best are financial and professional services, healthcare and medical training, trade and workshop businesses, and hospitality, travel and marine, though the method does not depend on knowing your sector.
